Earlier this month, former Denver Broncos star Derek Wolfe was in the news after hunting a mountain lion. Though some fans hailed him as a hero, many were unhappy with his actions. They slammed Wolfe for killing the mountain lion and demanded that people leave wild animals alone.
In a recent interview on 'Tucker Carlson Tonight', Wolfe revealed that he was facing harassment. According to him, the hunt was completely legal. Yet, people were making calls to turn him in.
Wolfe shared the story on Instagram, describing the process in detail.
“I can’t believe what’s happened to me,” Wolfe said. “I can’t believe that going on a legal hunt, doing something legal, by the book — they’ve had 200 calls to Colorado Parks and Wildlife trying to turn me in like I did something wrong".
He added:
“I did nothing wrong; everything’s legal.”
Fans had different reactions to the incident, with many wondering why they even had to call Wolfe for the job. Most users online had a problem with the wild animal being killed, although it had apparently already killed two dogs before.
Wolfe was roped in to stop the mountain lion before the situation got out of hand.

Wolfe also explained that the hunt was not easy for him.
“I’ll tell you, I’ve been through some tough training camps, brother, but this hunt, man, it beat me up bad.”
In fact, he even ate the meat after it was processed.
“CPW (Colorado Parks and Wildlife) came down and checked the cat in for me. I took the meat and got it processed. I’m going to eat that cat.”
Furthermore, Wolfe's original post went into detail about his hunt and how he finally caught the lion.
"We found a fresh 4x4 mule deer he had just killed. We hiked straight up 2500ft and down the other side, then back up again, back down the other side and then back up again to 9600ft," Wolfe wrote. "Exhausted,dehydrated,cramping I drew back my @hoytbowhunting and sent an @sevrbroadheads through him".
A lineman for the University of Cincinnati, the Super Bowl 50 champion retired after almost a decade in the NFL. Most of his career was spent with the Broncos and the last few seasons with the Baltimore Ravens. Wolfe retired with the Broncos after a one-day contract.
