As the NFL trade deadline nears (November 1), Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is confident the team will acquire some weapons before the deadline ends.

Like Rodgers, the Packers' receiving core has struggled this season while dealing with some injuries. Through six games, Allen Lazard leads the team in yards (285) and receiving touchdowns (4) while tight end Robert Tonyan leads the team in receptions (27).

Through six games, Rodgers has averaged 233.3 passing yards per game, has thrown nine touchdowns, and three interceptions. His numbers aren't bad, but they aren't the numbers the back-to-back MVP is used to putting up.

Aaron Rodgers joined The Pat McAfee Show and spoke with McAfee about the current receiver group in Green Bay and how a few of the receivers have been dealing with injuries. He also pointed out how their relationship has gotten better.

"No, my head is there, for sure. It's always there. But it's not just random. Christian is obviously dealing with a hamstring, Sammy, hopefully getting him back, either this week or next week. But he's been out for a while. So we got to get healthy, number one. Number two, since a lot of those conversations happened, the relationship between myself and management has definitely improved. "

He continued:

"Here we go. Yeah. It's not a new revelation that I'm sharing here. But Brian, I ever wrote about your relationship and we communicate often about a number of different things, not just personnel stuff, but the pulse of the team and interaction and mindset and energy and how everybody's kind of fitting together."

Aaron Rodgers added that he and general manager Brian Gutekunst have had conversations about adding a player or two before the deadline.

"So, we've had conversations, and I trust that they'll be in the mix on certain guys that they liked. As always, it comes down to the need price cost of those certain players. But I know Brian is going to do his best for our football team. If he feels like adding a guy or two to the mix, then I'm sure he's going to try and make that happen."

Through the first six games of the 2022 NFL season, the Green Bay Packers are 3-3 and in second place in the NFC North behind the Minnesota Vikings.

This is the first season that the team and Aaron Rodgers are without All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams since he was drafted in 2014. The Raiders had a bye this past week, but in five games thus far, Adams has recorded 29 catches for 414 yards, and five touchdowns.

Adams would lead the Packers in all of those categories if he were on the team this season.

As Rodgers and the Packers' offense lack big playmakers at the receiver position, the team could try to acquire one or two before the trade deadline is over.
