Kirk Cousins and the Atlanta Falcons had their bye week this past weekend and the quarterback spent his downtime back where his career started, Michigan State. Cousins' wife, Julie, shared a recap of the bye week in an Instagram post on Sunday.
"Feeling grateful for an incredible bye week… Wicked, MSU, kittens, fires, and lots of love!"-Julie Cousins wrote on Instagram
Kirk Cousins' return to East Lansing, Michigan, was well documented by his wife. The Falcons quarterback stood on the field at Spartan Stadium with a green Spartans baseball cap on. He also looked at a trophy case at the Spartans' stadium.
The Michigan State Spartans beat their Big Ten foe, the Purdue Boilermakers, 24-17.
Kirk Cousins and wife Julie recreate the moment they first met
In late October, Kirk Cousins and the Atlanta Falcons were in Tampa, Florida, for a road game against the Buccaneers. For the quarterback and his wife, Raymond James Stadium, the home of the Buccaneers, holds a special place in their relationship.
Julie Cousins shared a photo on Instagram of the couple outside the stadium ahead of the game. She shared in her caption that it was the exact spot where they met for the first time almost 13 years ago.
The couple met at the Outback Bowl in January 2012 where the Michigan State Spartans defeated the Georgia Bulldogs 33-30 in overtime. Cousins was the quarterback for the Spartans and his now-wife was a student at the University of Georgia when they were introduced by a mutual friend. The couple then got engaged in 2013 and married in 2014.
"Back in the exact spot where we met almost 13 years ago!!! God is good! Go Falcons!"-Julie wrote
The outcome was the same for Cousins during this trip to Tampa as the Falcons outdueled the Buccaneers 31-26.
