The Kansas City Chiefs opened their title defense and quest for a three-peat with a hard-fought 27-20 win over reigning MVP Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens in a thriller at Arrowhead Stadium. Patrick Mahomes had an efficient outing as he completed 20 of his 28 pass attempts for 291 yards and one touchdown, with an interception being the sole blemish on an otherwise tidy performance.
The Chiefs' ground game couldn't provide much support to the offense, but not from a lack of trying, especially from Isiah Pacheco. The third-year running back carried the ball 15 times for 45 yards and a touchdown. He was the ball carrier in 75% of Kansas City's rush attempts against the Ravens.
Pacheco had a scary moment during the win over Baltimore. Early in the third quarter, he had seemingly suffered an injury that threatened to knock him out of the rest of the game. After a play, he jogged gingerly to the sideline before collapsing to the floor and vomiting.

However, he returned to the game soon after and put on a tireless shift to help the Chiefs open their season with a win. Adrenaline may have gotten him through the second half, but there were concerns that Pacheco's mystery injury could affect his participation in Kansas City's Week 2 clash against the Cincinnati Bengals. However, there's seemingly nothing to be worried about.
Will Isiah Pacheco play today?
The running back's name hasn't appeared on the Chiefs's injury report throughout the week and hasn't been placed on the Injured Reserves list, suggesting he was a full participant in practice throughout the week.
Barring any last-minute hiccups, Pacheco will suit up and play against the Bengals in Week 2. His involvement will be critical to the Chiefs' success on offense against Cincinnati's defense.
The New England Patriots rushed for 170 yards and a touchdown against them in Week 1. Pacheco is not only expected to play but to also have a heavy workload.
