Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase is not injured but his status for Week 1 is up in the air. Chase has been holding out of training camp as he looks to get a new contract, despite having two years left on his deal.
Chase is the Bengals' top receiver and one of the best receivers in the NFL. But he may not be in the lineup for Week 1.
Is Ja'Marr Chase injured? Why is Bengals WR missing from practice?

Ja'Marr Chase missed practice on Monday and Bengals coach Zac Taylor said his status for Week 1 is up in the air.

"We'll just take day to day," Taylor said, via the NFL website.
Chase would be the No. 1 receiver for the Bengals if he plays, but he is holding out for a new contract. The star receiver was selected fifth overall in the 2021 NFL draft, and despite having two years left on his contract, he has been looking to get a new deal, to make him the highest-paid wide receiver.
If Chase doesn't play in Week 1, Taylor said the Bengals have a plan if the star receiver is out of the lineup for Sunday's opener.
"Yeah, we're always ready," Taylor said. "There's always injuries and things you've got to deal with, so we'll adapt to that."
Last season, Chase recorded 100 receptions for 1,216 yards and seven touchdowns.
Ja’Marr Chase’s fantasy outlook for 2024
If Ja'Marr Chase ends his holdout he is one of the top receivers in fantasy football in 2024.
Chase is a popular pick in the first round, but his holdout has some fantasy owners being worried. If Chase does play in Week 1, Sportskeeda's Who Should I Start tool has the Bengals receiver recording 18.2 fantasy points in a full PPR league.

The tool suggests that Philadelphia Eagles star A.J. Brown is the better option at receiver than Chase in Week 1.
The Bengals open Week 1 at home on Sunday, Sept. 8, against the New England Patriots at 1 p.m. ET.
