With Zack Moss dealing with a neck injury, the Cincinnati Bengals acquired running back Khalil Herbert from the Chicago Bears. The trade happened before the trade deadline expired on Tuesday, with the Bears swapping a seventh-round pick.
Herbert now joins a backfield featuring rookie Chase Brown, the team's leading rusher with 479 yards and four touchdowns. Moss is the team's second-leading rusher with 242 yards. Moss was placed on injured reserve and is expected to miss the rest of the season.
It is unclear what Herbert's exact role will be with Cincy, but for now, he will likely be behind Brown, who has gotten the bulk of carries this season for the Bengals.
Is Khalil Herbert playing tonight vs. the Baltimore Ravens?
Although he was traded to the Cincinnati Bengals just two days ago, Khalil Herbert is expected to make his Bengals debut tonight.
ESPN NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler tweeted that Herbert worked aggressively the last few days, learning their offense quickly enough to be active tonight.
"Bengals’ newly acquired running back Khalil Herbert is expected to play tonight vs. the #Ravens, per sources," Fowler tweeted. "Herbert, traded from Chicago on Tuesday, worked aggressively over the last few days to get up to speed on Cincinnati’s offense."
It remains unknown how much time Herbert will play tonight, but he is expected to have a limited role.
Herbert has rushed eight times for 16 yards and a touchdown this season.
Is Tre'Davious White playing tonight for the Baltimore Ravens?
The Ravens, like the Bengals, made a move at the trade deadline, acquiring Los Angeles Rams cornerback Tre'Davious White.
The Bengals sent the Rams a seventh-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft and also received a 2027 seventh-round pick.
While the newly acquired Khalil Herbert will play tonight, White will not.
Adam Schefter tweeted:
"Newly-acquired CB Tre'Davious White is not expected to make his Ravens’ debut tonight vs. the Bengals. The team traded for him Tuesday, and there isn’t enough time for him to get ready on a short week."
White will likely make his debut with the Ravens next week against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
White has had a solid career, making two Pro Bowls and being named All-Pro. He joins the third team of his career as he begins his stint with the Ravens.
