Is Raheem Mostert playing tonight? Latest on Dolphins RB's knee injury for Wild Card showdown vs Chiefs

A number of key players on the Miami Dolphins roster suffered significant injuries around the end of the regular season. Luckily for the team, it appears some of those vital players may finally be making a full recovery.

When the Dolphins play the Kansas City Chiefs at Geha Field in Arrowhead Stadium on Saturday, running back Raheem Mostert should be back on the field, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

Due to ankle and knee problems, the veteran running back could not play against the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills in Weeks 17 and 18. Before the injury, he had enjoyed a fantastic season, having run for over 1000 yards for the first time in his career and scoring a league-high 18 running touchdowns (21 total TDs).

In the face of a resolute Chiefs defense, Mostert's return is expected to strengthen Miami's offense.

Despite being limited in practice the week leading to the game, Mostert was listed as questionable to play in the AFC East title matchup against the Bills on Jan. 6 before he ultimately missed out.

As he prepares for his first NFL playoff game, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is expected to have one of his top targets out of the backfield with Mostert back in the lineup.

Exploring Raheem Mostert's injury status: What happened to Dolphins RB?

Raheem Mostert has contributed significantly to the Miami Dolphins' postseason qualification this season. But as the team prepares to face the Kansas City Chiefs in a wild-card round matchup on Saturday, he is still recovering from knee and ankle issues.

During the game against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 16, the running back sustained injuries to his ankle and knee. Early in the contest, opposition safety Malik Hooker tackled Mostert on his leg, causing him to fall to the ground. After that, Cowboys offensive tackle Robert Jones landed on Mostert. The RB was checked up in the blue medical tent and managed to leave the field by himself.

Raheem Mostert could return in the second half, which was good news for the Dolphins as it indicated that his injury wasn't too significant.

Since that setback, Mostert has missed two games in losses to the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens.

Although Mostert was limited in practice this week, NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport has stated that the star RB should be ready for tonight's game against the Chiefs.
