Jaguars HC delivers major injury update on Trevor Lawrence ahead of Week 13 clash against Texans

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence has missed the last two games after suffering a sprain in his left shoulder against the Philadelphia Eagles on Nov. 3.

The injury has been treated on a day-by-day approach, with talks of potentially shutting down Lawrence for the remainder of the season.

As the Jaguars prepare to face division rival, the Houston Texans, on Sunday, it sounds like Lawrence will return to the field. Coach Doug Pederson said Friday morning that Lawrence has had a good week of practicing this week, and as of right now, he said he would be active to play Sunday.

"He's had a good week," Pederson said via Jaguars reporter Demetrius Harvey. "Done some really good things this week. I would say as of right now, yes, he will play."

Lawrence has been a limited participant this week in practice, with the Jaguars playing it safe with his workload. The Jacksonville Jaguars (2-9) are in last place in the AFC South.

Earlier this week, Trevor Lawrence spoke to reporters about how he felt in the process of his recovery from his shoulder injury.

"Hopefully, I'm able to get back out there this week or as soon as possible, and then it's going to be just every week kind of evaluating it, seeing where it's at," Lawrence said Wednesday. "Obviously up until this point I've been doing everything I can to avoid that and want to be back out there with my guys and finish the season. So that's my goal."

Lawrence also said that surgery still isn't off the table as he battles the nagging shoulder. Lawrence could play the rest of the season and decide to have surgery after the season if he feels it's necessary. It seems like it is an injury that will be dealt with in a day-by-day process.

All signs point towards Trevor Lawrence playing Sunday and for the remainder of the season.
