Jared Goff has led the Detroit Lions to a long-awaited Thanksgiving Day win. Playing the Chicago Bears on Thursday, the QB led his team to a 23-20 win to snap their seven-game losing skid during the holiday.
Not only did Goff win the Thanksgiving game, but he also bagged the Madden Thanksgiving MVP award. He completed 21 of 34 pass attempts for 221 yards and two touchdowns.
Goff's wife Christen Harper, who was at the game, showed off the QB's MVP trophy on her Instagram story.
Engraved with the game's details, Christen also shared a snap of their Thanksgiving meal with a few pies in the frame.
Christen added a clip while enjoying Shaboozy's music at the halftime show. She showed off her fit before the game: a black jacket, and black t-shirt with black jeans. The highlight was her Lions-themed jacket.
"Happy thanksgiving!!!! & go Lions!" Christen Harper wrote on her Instagram story.
Eating turkey with his teammate on camera with his MVP trophy on the side, Goff was sure this would be an unforgettable moment for him.
"That's something that I'll never forget. It was actually pretty good. The stuffing was good. We were having a good time. It's awesome. It's a memory I'll have forever," Goff said postgame.
Jared Goff's wife Christen Harper was in awe of children chanting Goff's name
Before the Thanksgiving games began, Harper shared a clip of children in Detroit chanting Goff's name.
The Sports Illustrated model referred to it as a sweet moment, ready to cheer on her husband.
"This is the cutest thing I've ever seen," Christen Goff wrote on her IG story.
Goff's popularity in Detroit has increased tremendously, with fans hoping that the QB will lead them to a miraculous Super Bowl win. One of the oldest NFL franchises, the Lions have never won nor reached a Super Bowl in their history.
But with their Thanksgiving win, the Lions improved to 11-1, the best record in the NFL, and are in the driver's seat for a first-round bye.
