It has been five years since Jay Cutler divorced his ex-wife Kristin Cavallari, and it wasn’t until recently that the former NFL quarterback opened up about his co-parenting experience. Cutler and Cavallari are parents to three kids: Saylor, Camden and Jaxon.
Major attention came to the couple’s co-parenting responsibilities when Kristin Cavallari made a controversial statement about her marriage last year. Through her Let’s Be Honest podcast, Cavallari confessed to being “unhappy” in her marriage, leading to her divorce.

The podcaster’s statement went viral, getting covered by multiple publications and news outlets, andwas all over social media as well. However, during his interview with US Weekly on Tuesday, the ex-NFL star made no mention of Cavallari’s comments affecting their co-parenting experience.

If anything, Jay Cutler credited his kids for making his co-parenting experience smooth. Talking about how the couple managed to give their kids time, Cutler said:
“The kids kind of do it. We’ve got our schedule, and it works for us.”
As for Kristin Cavallari’s statement, the podcaster reflected back on her marriage, highlighting the difference in health she has experienced post her divorce. Talking about how she “was so unhappy and so stressed” in her marriage, Cavallari said:
"The difference was, I was so unhappy and so stressed out. I look back at photos from that time period, and I am like, ‘Holy sh*t! I was rail f**king thin. I was skin and bones. I looked like sh*t.' I think I look so much better now.”
Kristin Cavallari highlighted existing connection with Jay Cutler’s fiancée
In November last year, Jay Cutler and his fiancée, Samantha Robertson, got engaged. The couple made the big relationship decision after almost one year of dating each other.
Interestingly, Cutler’s ex-wife, Kristin Cavallari, already knew Robertson long before the quarterback’s engagement. In Wednesday’s episode of Honestly Cavallari: The Podcast Tour, the influencer confessed to having long envisioned Cutler’s relationship dynamic with his fiancée, Robertson.
“I knew her before. So, I think that helped because I could, sort of, envision their dynamic,” Cavallari confessed.
Jay Cutler and Kristin Cavallari first met in 2009 and decided to get engaged in 2011, but shortly after their engagement, the couple parted ways in the same year.
However, in September 2011, the couple reunited and started their relationship from a new perspective. Two years later, Cavallari got married to Cutler in an intimate wedding ceremony in Nashville.
