Joe Burrow has been one of the most successful quarterbacks during his short time in the NFL so far. The issue is that two of his four years in the league have been shortened by a season-ending injury. In his two healthy seasons, he has accumulated a 27-12 overall record with two Conference Championship appearances and a trip to the Super Bowl.

The Cincinnati Bengals' superstar quarterback was recently featured in the annual NFL Top 100 rankings, but he may have been listed a bit lower than some expected him to be. He ranked as just the 39th overall player, with nine other quarterbacks ranking higher than him ahead of the 2024 NFL season.

Burrow was recently asked during a press conference about his current standing in the NFL Top 100 players. He disagreed with the number but outlined why he believes he checked in where he did:

"I think I'm obviously better than that, but when you're not playing... I didn't exactly have a season that would have put me any higher than that. When you're hurt, you really can't complain much about any accolades or anything, until you go out and prove yourself again." (12:00)

Joe Burrow understands that his ranking was severely affected by being held to just 10 games during the 2023 NFL season. The NFL Top 100 is voted by the players themselves, which offers an interesting perspective on how they feel about their peers. This season included Tyreek Hill as the number-one overall player and Burrow as the 10-best quarterback.

Joe Burrow accepted his 39th overall spot in the NFL Top 100, crediting his injuries last year as the reason why. The Cincinnati Bengals quarterback also made sure to mention that he believes that he is much better than that. What may be the most interesting part of where he was ranked is that he came in at just 10th in his own position.

Here's how the top 10 quarterbacks stacked up:

  1. Lamar Jackson
  2. Patrick Mahomes
  3. Josh Allen
  4. Jalen Hurts
  5. Dak Prescott
  6. CJ Stroud
  7. Brock Purdy
  8. Jordan Love
  9. Tua Tagovailoa
  10. Joe Burrow

It's a bit surprising to see the Bengals superstar fall behind players like Tua Tagovailoa and Jordan Love in the quarterback rankings, especially considering Burrow's elite success in the postseason so far. He appears confident that if he can stay healthy during the 2024 NFL season, he will propel himself to a much higher spot in the rankings.
