Joe Montana achieved a lot during his football career. He won four Super Bowls, multiple league MVP and Super Bowl MVP titles, playing for the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs. He would later became a Pro Football Hall of Fame member. Throughout it all, he never forgot to remember who was the most important person to him.

Montana recounted how he used to call his wife while playing football games, much like one would call home from the office. He explained how he did that. He would use the phone on the sidelines and wondered one day, if he could make a call outside the stadium. The standard way to connect to the operator was to hit the digit 9, and to his surprise, a dial tone popped up.

He used it to call his home phone to connect to his wife Jennifer. Much to her surprise, it was her husband on the other line. Through her stammers and protestations, he used that time to adorably convey his love for her. Once he found out that it worked, he used to go to every stadium to check if it was possible or not.

How did Jennifer and Joe Montana meet?

Jennifer Wallace and the star quarterback met during a Schick razor commercial. An aspiring model and actress, she played her part as a sheriff in the ad. Joe Montana, already a Super Bowl champion then, was there to add star power.

Unfortunately for Montana, Wallace did not really know who he was, but the quarterback mustered the courage to ask her out for dinner. Having dated for six months, he proposed to her. However, marriage was far from her mind, and she did not accept it, but luckily for him, she did not say no either.

So, he tried once more and hired a plane to fly the message across. This time she accepted, and they married in 1985. They have been together since then and have four children together. Joe Montana has made a steady marriage work after two short marriages before that. He was married to Kim Moses from 1974 to 1977 and Cass Castillo from 1981 to 1984.

However, that fateful commercial would change the course of their lives forever. Through countless challenges over the years, they have remained for each other. Joe Montana never forgot to remind her of his love for her, even when he was out on the field chasing glory.
