The Green Bay Packers reportedly released their cornerback Jaire Alexander. Rumors of Alexander's release did the rounds all offseason before it was confirmed earlier Monday.
After parting ways with the CB, the Packers' CEO, Mack Murphy, made his feelings known about him. While speaking in an interview with NFL analyst Dave Schroeder, Murphy called Alexander an elite talent:
"Well, first of all, he's been a great player for us. Obviously, elite talent. Unfortunately, just injured a lot. Kinda unfortunately, that's a big part of our game."

During his time with the Green Bay Packers, Jaire Alexander missed a lot of game time. The CB has only played seven games each in the past two seasons and only recorded two interceptions and 16 tackles in 2024. He was let go after the two sides couldn't agree on a contract extension.
Green Bay Packers GM said that not being able to play a star like Jaire Alexander was frustrating
The Green Bay Packers expected big things from Jaire Alexander when they selected him in the first round of the 2018 NFL draft. However the cornerback failed to deliver results on the field. Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst said that it was frustrating to not have Alexander on the field.
"We're at the beginning stages, just kind of gathering information as a whole before we start looking at next year and how we're gonna lay this thing out," the GM said. "But we could. Obviously, when he's healthy and he's ready to play, he's a pretty good player."
He added:
"Again, there's frustration on both sides by the fact that he can't get out there, and that's tough. I feel for him, because he wants to be out there and he wants to play. But there is no disconnect."
Fans are intrigued to see where Alexander goes from here as the 2025 NFL season nears.
