Kareem Hunt trade rumors: Trump-endorsed author warns teams against trading for Browns RB after 2018 assault

Kareem Hunt is a wanted man. With the NFL's November 1 trade deadline fast approaching, teams looking to contend for a playoff spot are hunting for moves to bolster their roster. Other teams that are not having a great season are looking to offload star players and players on expiring contracts in return for draft capital.

With one star running back already switching allegiances, the league's top dogs have turned their attention to the Cleveland Browns' unhappy star. Kareem Hunt could be available, for the right price. At 2-5, the Browns' hopes of making the playoffs are slim. With Nick Chubb firmly established as the team's RB1, it's seemingly time for the team and Hunt to head their separate ways. The former Kansas City Chiefs star will earn a modest $6.25 million this season before testing the free agency market next year.

While teams continue to field calls about Hunt exploring a potential trade, author Nick Adams has warned franchises to steer clear of the running back. He tweeted:

"We shouldn't even be discussing Kareem Hunt's trade value. He deserves to be in jail for kicking a Cleveland woman in the head on camera!"

Adams was referring to a video from 2018 where Hunt and a group of people are seen in a physical altercation in a hotel lobby. The video ends with Hunt kicking a woman before walking away. Watch the clip below:

WARNING: VIOLENCE

The running back was having a breakout rookie season with the Chiefs when TMZ released the footage online. The Chiefs released him and the league slapped an eight-game ban on Hunt. The Browns signed Hunt in the 2019 offseason and he has spent the past three and a half seasons with the franchise.

Is Kareem Hunt going to get traded?

With the Browns unlikely to make the playoffs and Kareem Hunt hitting free agency in 2023, it makes sense for the team to trade him.

The Buffalo Bills and Los Angeles Rams are reportedly interested in acquiring Hunt to bolster their rosters further. Both teams are in win-now mode, meaning the Browns can get good value in a trade for a player they will lose for free in 2023.

Deshaun Watson's massive contract and a potential Nick Chubb contract extension will limit the Browns' spending ability during the 2023 offseason. It's improbable that Cleveland will be able to offer Hunt an extension that he'll be content with. So it's best for the Browns to trade the running back and stock up on draft capital.
