Earlier this week, Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts sounded the alarm for the team's fans, and fantasy managers, as he was limited during Wednesday's practice due to a hamstring injury. After a good 2023 season, he became a fantasy favorite ahead of this season, but the injury news could ruin plenty of people's plans to start the season on a strong note.
The Falcons will face the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday in a reunion with former head coach Arthur Smith, who now works as the Steelers' offensive coordinator. With their new weapons and coaching staff, the Falcons pose a serious threat in the NFC South division and having Pitts in the lineup will boost their chances to start the season on the right foot.
But, with this week's developments, it's worth asking if Pitts will be available.

Kyle Pitts injury report
Despite being a limited participant for Wednesday's practice, Pitts returned to the field on Thursday, practicing in full gear and putting fans' concerns to rest. Thursday update was a very good signal that he would be fit for Sunday's game and after another full practice, he's set to take on the Steelers at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
The 23-year-old tight end isn't listed on the injury report anymore, as well as LB Nate Landman and DT David Onyemata, among others. The Falcons will be without CB Antonio Hamilton with a groin injury, he will be the only absence for the season-opener.
Should Fantasy Managers be worried about Falcons TE?
Once the news about his hamstring issue was reported, Kyle Pitts took to X, formerly Twitter, to extinguish any concern fans had.
The next two days of practice confirmed that the issue was resolved and he's fit to step on the field again. Pitts was targeted 90 times last season, getting 53 receptions for 667 yards. In 2024, he was 44th in the NFL with 12.6 yards per catch and 69th with 7.4 yards per target, respectively.
Pitts only scored only three touchdowns in 2023, a number likely to go up this season.
He became a solid fantasy option for tight ends in the league, even with George Kittle, Travis Kelce and Mark Andrews showing no signs of slowing down. With Kirk Cousins as the starting quarterback, Kyle Pitts should get a bigger role this season. Moreover, considering that Arthur Smith is no longer the offensive coordinator, he could be in for a breakout season in Atlanta.
