Derek Wolfe, a former Denver Broncos star, ended up catching the limelight once again. This time, the 32-year-old caught a mountain lion, which was apparently terrorizing the city. Wolfe shared his story on social media, immediately catching the attention of fans on Twitter.

The responses were mixed, especially since a few people were completely against hunting and animals being harmed. Some were sad to see the mountain lion dead, but understood the problems faced by the city.

That being said, a major chunk of people were unhappy with the development and blasted Derek Wolfe on social media. Many wanted them to leave the animals out of it, unhappy with the way many were praising the Super Bowl 50 champion.

A few wondered what the animal control department was doing if they had to call Wolfe to deal with the mountain lion. One user added that he would be contacting PETA to raise the issue.

Many highlighted that the animal was innocent. Most of the time, animals wander into human territory in search of food. The lion had apparently killed two dogs before, and people were beginning to get nervous about its next move.

One fan referred to this as an 'L', stating that everyone should stop killing wild animals.

As per Wolfe's caption, he was called upon to come and stalk Tom, a male mountain lion.

"Late Tuesday night I got a call from @huntnest to see if I wanted to stalk a giant Tom (male mountain lion) who has been wreaking havoc in a rural neighborhood. He had already killed two of her dogs and was living under her porch, nervous what he might do next".

Wolfe continued:

"We found a fresh 4x4 mule deer he had just killed. We hiked straight up 2500ft and down the other side, then back up again, back down the other side and then back up again to 9600ft. Exhausted, dehydrated, cramping I drew back my @hoytbowhunting and sent an @sevrbroadheads through him".

In the end, the Broncos icon revealed that he had to crawl down the mountain with the lion.
