Travis Kelce posted the least productive season of his career in 2024, covering only 823 yards and scoring only three touchdowns on 97 receptions. That fueled talks that he's past his prime. But Emmanuel Acho is not ready to count him out just yet.
On Monday's episode of FS1's "The Facility," the former Philadelphia Eagles linebacker cautioned the Kansas City Chiefs' opponents against casually ceasing to fear the three-time Super Bowl-winning tight end.
“I think he's lost a step, and I saw it on tape last year." Acho said (Time stamp: 02:06). "Travis Kelce struggled more than ever beating man coverage... but give me one more year to truly confirm whether he's no longer the great Travis Kelce. Let Travis Kelce confirm that he's lost a step, then you can no longer fear the Chiefs. This year I'm still going to fear him.”

Fans of Kelce should expect a new version of him when he appears. On Saturday's episode of SportsCenter, Jeremy Fowler revealed that he will have lost 25 pounds by the time minicamp begins on Tuesday:
"He played a little heavier in 2024. He vowed to change it, and he has. This could be the last dance for him in his mid-30s, and still be a productive player."
No exact dates for the Chiefs' summer/preseason camp have been announced as of this writing. However, their first preseason game will be against the Arizona Cardinals on August 9.
Chiefs DC Steve Spagnuolo compliments Travis Kelce as legendary TE enters 13th season
2025 marks the 13th season of Travis Kelce's legendary career. Throughout that time, he has worked with various assistant coaches, including two defensive coordinators.
His first title came in 2019, after the Chiefs hired fellow Super Bowl champion Steve Spagnuolo to replace Bob Sutton. Together, they have since won two more Lombardi Trophies in four tries (LVII and LVIII). And on last week's episode of Kelce and his brother Jason's podcast "New Heights," Spagnuolo said:
"I'm not saying this because you're sitting here, Trav, but you're one of the purest, down-to-earth megastars that anybody could ever meet."
Kelce responded:
"You're the best. That means the most coming from you, coach."
The team's season begins on September 5 against the Los Angeles Chargers in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Kickoff is at 7:15 PM CT on YouTube.
