Drake Maye hasn’t even been with the Patriots for a couple of months, but the young quarterback has been winning the hearts of the fans, not only with his skills but his personality as well. Recently the Patriots roster participated in a dodgeball game against some children and Maye’s relentless pursuit has wowed the fans once again.

The New England Patriots drafted the 21-year-old Maye as the third overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. While he has yet to put on the jersey for a game, his charm is already working on the Patriots faithful.

In a video posted on X (previously Twitter), Drake Maye showed his power and accuracy while throwing the ball at the kids, while indulging in a game of dodgeball with children. The throw left some of his teammates with open mouths as well.

“Drake Maye showing no mercy while playing dodgeball with kids.”

This viral video led one Patriot fan to compare Maye with their previous QB Mac Jones.

“Mac couldn’t do that.”

One fan saw Maye using his NFL capabilities on the dodgeball court as a form of necessary evil.

“Sometimes you just gotta use your talents for evil.”

Some fans liked Maye’s competitiveness and the fact that it could stem from growing up with three elder brothers.

“I love it, no remorse. He doesn’t play down to his competition. Lmao,” one fan said.
“He grew up with how many older brothers? Yup. Zero chance he shows mercy haha,” another fan said.

While for many this clip summed up everything, they’d want in a Patriots QB.

“I’ve seen enough. QB1,” one fan said.
“That’s my Quarterback,” another fan said.
“No mercy, that’s my QB,” said one fan.

Drake Maye loves competition no matter what

The clip of Drake Maye taking on kids in dodgeball went viral. The media asked the North Carolina quarterback about his intensity on the court against the children. Maye said:

“If they step on the court, it’s fair game.”

While the spot for QB1 isn’t locked down yet by Maye, fans would expect him to put on the jersey for the first preseason game of the Patriots against the Carolina Panthers on August 8.
