Ravens tight end Mark Andrews was involved in a car accident on the way to the team facilities but luckily escaped unharmed. In a statement released by the franchise, he was driving to their Under Armour Performance Center practice facility when the incident occurred. He was evaluated by the medical staff for the Ravens and did not have any apparent injuries and could join the team meetings.
Mark Andrews also stated,
"I appreciate everyone's thoughts and well wishes. This is a great reminder about the importance of wearing seatbelts and remaining alert while driving a car."

Mark Andrews to be crucial for the Ravens this season
That Mark Andrews walked away from the accident without severe injuries is great news for him and his family, but also for the team. The tight end, who was injured towards the end of the 2023 regular season, is a crucial component to the Ravens' Super Bowl aspirations.
He is the primary target for quarterback Lamar Jackson and has been for some time. He will continue in that role and will also need to bring his experience to a team that had Odell Beckham Jr. last year but doesn't have that option now. His injury last year probably contributed to the lethargic offense by Baltimore in the AFC Championship game against Kansas City at home, which they lost.
With the addition of Derrick Henry in the backfield, they will be trying to replicate the formula that the Chiefs used, to devastating effect last year. A strong defense coupled with Isiah Pacheco's runs and Travis Kelce's catches got them to the Super Bowl despite not having a great wide receiver corps. It will be up to Mark Andrews to play his role as the tight end to ensure his team can deliver on the promise they have on paper.
At 28 years old, he is already a veteran but theoretically coming into the prime of his career. He finished with 1,361 yards in 2021 but since then, has not surpassed triple digits. Last season he finished with just 544 yards but played just 10 games due to the injury. The season prior to that, he was on the field for 15 games and ended with 847 yards.
He will want to change that if the passing game is to be a threat for the Ravens going into 2024 and they do not have to depend too much on Lamar Jackson's dual-threat abilities.
