On Thursday, NFL.com released an article highlighting the latest news and rumors regarding "seven trades we'd like to see during NFL offseason." In the article, the ongoing Baltimore Ravens-Mark Andrews situation was discussed by NFL analyst Brooke Cersosimo.

Although Andrews still has time left on his current contract with Baltimore, there have been rumors this offseason that the Ravens may be looking to move off Andrews for cap-related reasons and to create more opportunities in the offense for fellow tight end Isaiah Likely.

"He's been a very reliable player (minus that drop in the Divisional Round loss), but this is a business after all. Andrews is a free agent in 2026, and with Baltimore needing to allocate money elsewhere... the team could save $11 million against the cap and gain future draft capital by trading him," Cersosimo wrote.

Cersosimo continued by highlighting her belief that the New York Jets could be a team interested in trading for Andrews' services:

"In come the Jets, who are in the middle of a rebuild and need more pieces to help Justin Fields jump-start the offense. New York did draft Mason Taylor in the second round, but bringing in Andrews for a year to aid this unit and mentor the rookie makes sense."

Does Mark Andrews to the New York Jets make sense?

Although some may believe that it would be counterproductive to draft a tight end in the second round and then trade for a three-time Pro Bowler, Mark Andrews is entering the final year of his contract. As a result, the New York Jets could acquire an elite player who could help them win and compete now while also building for the future.

There are not many tight ends in the league that have more success and experience than Andrews. With multiple playoff appearances and over 5,500 career receiving yards to his name, Andrews knows what it takes to succeed in the NFL.

From the Baltimore Ravens' perspective, the move would create some cap flexibility and allow the team to focus some of those resources elsewhere on the roster. However, it would be a noticeable change for QB Lamar Jackson, who has been teammates with Andrews for the past seven seasons after being selected in the same draft class in 2018.
