The NFL saw a blockbuster trade on Monday that sent Minkah Fitzpatrick to the Miami Dolphins and Jalen Ramsey and Jonnu Smith to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers received a 2027 seventh-round pick in the trade, while the Dolphins also received a 2027 fifth-round pick.

Tyreek Hill, Raheem Mostert, Ja'Marr Chase and Marlon Humphrey are among the NFL players who reacted to the trade on social media since it happened on Monday.

Humphrey tweeted on Monday after the trade was announced. The Baltimore Ravens' defensive back sends a lighthearted message that NFL players wish to compete in the fiercely contested AFC North division.

"Everybody want to come to the AFC North," Humphrey tweeted on Monday.

While Humphrey, who finished No. 3 in the league in interceptions last season, likely said that as a joke, it's true that the level of talent that has joined the AFC North this offseason is top.

The Steelers' offseason additions of Aaron Rodgers, DK Metcalf, Darius Slay, and now Ramsey and Smith will improve Mike Tomlin's team this season in a division that also includes the Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, and Cleveland Browns.

Baltimore won the division last season and the team has also added reinforcement this offseason, including veteran CB Jaire Alexander and receiver DeAndre Hopkins. While the Bengals failed to make the playoffs last season, they still have one of the best offenses in the league, with Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins on their roster. The Browns were one of the worst teams in the league last year, but the quality on the roster, especially at quarterback, appears better heading into 2025.

It will be interesting to see how the AFC North teams stack up against one another in the 2025 season after the Steelers' most recent additions.

What Jalen Ramsey and Jonnu Smith's addition mean for the rest of the AFC North

The Pittsburgh Steelers are becoming more and more formidable as the preseason and regular season draw nearer, and the other AFC North teams need to be on high alert. The team signed four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers in June, and recently made a deal for an exceptional cornerback in Jalen Ramsey and a talented tight end in Jonnu Smith. Each of these players is expected to contribute significantly to the team in 2025.

Pittsburgh has made it obvious that they want to compete this season, which will make it less easy for their rivals in the AFC North. The Bengals offense is still expected to be the best in the division, and the Ravens are still the favorites to win the AFC North, but these clubs can no longer count on the Steelers as a sure win. At least not as it appeared when Mason Rudolph was slated to start for the team.

All things considered, the Steelers may now seriously hurt the Bengals' chances of making the playoffs and jeopardize the Ravens' chances of securing the first seed in the AFC conference.
