Aaron Rodgers is currently one of the biggest focuses of the 2023 NFL offseason. The entire NFL world is waiting to hear what his intentions are for the upcoming 2023 season. All options appear to be on the table for the superstar quarterback. This includes returning to the Green Bay Packers, requesting to be traded to a new team, or possibly even retiring.

In an effort to gain more clarity on the situation in his own unique way, Rodgers famously withdrew to a darkness retreat to gather his thoughts. Apparently this would help him determine what steps he wants to take next as many teams, including his current one, are patiently waiting for his decision.

Aaron Rodgers hasn't given a definitive timeline on when his decision will be announced, but NFL insider Mike Florio believes he has a good idea of when it will happen.

"It all points to next week in Indianapolis, when all teams and agents gather for the Scouting Combine. The Jets, for example, need to know whether they’ll be acquiring Rodgers or signing Derek Carr.
"If Carr has a bird in the hand with a team like the Saints, he may not wait to see whether he’ll Plan B for the NYJ… It needs to get resolved by next week, as a practical matter."

Florio believes that when all 32 teams send representatives to the official scouting combine for the 2023 NFL draft, a clearer picture of Rodgers' future will emerge. The 2023 NFL combine begins on February 28 and runs until March 6. With many executives and agents in attendance at the event, many discussions can be had about potential trades, including one for Aaron Rodgers.

Will the Packers really trade Aaron Rodgers?

All the reports indicate that the Green Bay Packers are open to the possible idea of potentially trading Aaron Rodgers. They seem ready to eventually turn over the starting quarterback position to Jordan Love, who they've been grooming for three seasons since selecting him in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft.

If the Packers do in fact trade him, the two teams will jump out as the most ideal landing spots. They also both feature someone he could reunite with. The New York Jets recently hired Nathaniel Hackett to take over as their offensive coordinator. Hackett helped Rodgers win two NFL MVP awards in the same position with the Packers.

Another destination that makes sense is the Las Vegas Raiders. They recently moved on from Derek Carr, so they're in the market for a new quarterback. They also acquired Davante Adams via trade last year, Rodgers' top target and close friend in Green Bay.
