Aaron Rodgers missed the entire 2023 NFL season after suffering an Achilles injury in the early minutes of the Week 1 opener. This season, Rodgers has played two games and led his team to a 1-1 record.

On Thursday, Mike Giardi said that the New York Jets will struggle against the New England Patriots. He pointed out Rodgers' lack of mobility and that remaining in the pocket will hurt the Jets' offense.

"He understandably looks rusty after missing all but four snaps of last season ... Where it shows up most is in the lack of mobility. Rodgers doesn't want to move, so the ball comes out quickly," Giardi wrote in the Boston Globe

Giardi also pointed out that 50% of the passes Aaron Rodgers has thrown this season are slanted and flat passes. He also said the Jets offense is currently 30th in the NFL in play action, which is not great considering the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers are the only teams behind them.

Aaron Rodgers knows Jets offense needs to give "defense a chance"

In the first two weeks of the season, quarterback Aaron Rodgers has completed 31 of 51 passes for 343 yards, three touchdowns and one interception.

The New York Jets quarterback told reporters this week that his offense needs to get off to a better start.

"We've been starting really slow the first two weeks, so we've got to start faster, put something together in the first 15 [plays], give our defense a chance to play with a lead," Rodgers said

The 40-year-old quarterback said that the offense will make a few changes heading into Week 3. The coaching staff and players have seen through the first two weeks of the season what has been working for them and what hasn't.

Rodgers is hopeful the changes will be a better opportunity for the Jets offense to get on the board faster.
