"He never said anything useful": NFL analyst labels Bill Belichick a 'hypocrite' after multiple media jobs

Bill Belichick is starting the second part of his NFL career after landing several media jobs. However, not everyone is impressed with them. Radio personality Andrew Perloff wrote a piece terming Belichick a ‘hypocrite’ and implored his new employers to look elsewhere.

In his article for Athlon Sports, Perloff writes:

"He never said anything useful as an NFL coach and now he’s going to get paid talk? As brilliant as Belichick is, find someone else."

Earlier this year in January, the New England Patriots and Belichick parted ways. Since then, the eight-time Super Bowl winner, as a coach, had been looking for new opportunities. However, he could not land any of those, but that did not mean that he will go jobless this season.

He tipped his toes in the media business during the 2024 NFL Draft, appearing on ESPN’s ‘Pat MacAfee Show’ as an expert. After that, the former Patriots GM/HC landed another show with ESPN for the entire season, ‘Monday Night Football’. Recently, he also scored the gig to work the desk on CW’s ‘Inside The NFL’.

Perloff especially highlights instances from Belichick’s 24-year reign at the Patriots where he refused to engage with the media. According to him, the former coach showed ‘disdain’ for media members during his career.

The analyst also suspects that Bill Belichick will not be truthful to his new job and will look for 'angles' to secure his next coaching job. Perloff further made demands from Belichick to clear up several issues from his coaching tenure, with some events going back decades.

Nick Sirianni isn’t bothered by Bill Belichick

For several weeks, rumors were afloat that Bill Belichick might take over Nick Sirianni’s coaching job at the Philadelphia Eagles.

However, Sirianni, in a recent interview with CBS Sports, brushed aside any concerns regarding that possibility. He maintains he has complete “trust” from the Eagles’ owners.

However, after last year’s meltdown of going on a 6-game losing streak towards the end of the season, Sirianni was given a second chance by not being fired.

Bill Belichick has refused to retire from the coaching aspect and that is enough for any non-performing coach to worry about their job.
