“Good God, that Raiders number” – NFL fans can’t believe LV’s draft history as stunning stat condemns franchise

'Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas' sign turns silver and black ahead of 2022 NFL Draft

The Las Vegas Raiders have a new quarterback and are getting used to their new stadium, but draft picks haven't exactly been the franchise's best work.

Most teams get a certain number of draft picks over the course of free agency and trade period, and with those picks, players are brought in. Some will play from Week 1, while others will take time to develop.

However, in the Raiders' case, a damning stat has now come out with the franchise at the bottom of a list for most snaps played by drafted players.

Players that Las Vegas has drafted over the last five years have only played a grand total of 11,904 snaps, which puts them at rock bottom. The next worst is the New York Jets with 47,244. One NFL fan couldn't believe the Raiders' number.

"Good god, that Raiders number…"

Other fans gave their thoughts on Las Vegas' number of snaps played by drafted players in the last five years, with many at a loss for words.

So, it appears that most fans can't quite believe the amount (or lack thereof) of snaps played by drafted players for the Raiders. There is some pushback online as to the exact number with some claiming it is far higher than what has been posted. Still, it is startling.

Raiders looking to improve in 2023

Las Vegas Raiders introduce Jimmy Garoppolo

After missing out on the playoffs last year, the franchise made the move to part ways with Derek Carr and brought in Jimmy Garoppolo. Despite losing Darren Waller to the New York Giants, there is still plenty of optimism around the Raiders.

They also hold the seventh pick in the NFL Draft, so there should be some talent coming soon. Just how many snaps the said draft pick will play is unknown, but most Las Vegas fans will want it to be rather high in his first year.

In a tough division, Las Vegas has a lot of work to do in order to get back to the postseason. But with Garoppolo and a decent haul of draft picks, hopefully, things improve for Josh McDaniel and his team in 2023.
