Nick Caserio: NFL Combine

Ahead of the the Sunday games in Week 18, news emerged of a potential shakeup of personnel for the Houston Texans. It was reported that general manager Nick Caserio and head coach Lovie Smith could be let go by the franchise.

Lovie Smith did get fired by the Texans following their win over the Indianapolis Colts, but Caserio is staying as the GM as of now. However, during all of this, a strange photo of Caserio went viral on social media and fans mocked him.

Here's how social media reacted to Texans general manager Nick Caserio’s bizarre picture:

Nick Caserio was appointed as the general manager of the Houston Texans in January 2021 and handling the franchise has been a very tough task. The franchise has already let go of two head coaches in the past two seasons, and Caserio had his work cut out for him.

He did get a good package in return for Deshaun Watson from the Cleveland Browns and that could help the franchise move forward. The Texans do have two early first-round picks for the 2023 NFL Draft, and the franchise needs to make smart decisions to bring some joy back to Houston.

The Texans have lost key players like J.J. Watt, Deshaun Watson, DeAndre Hopkins, and Tyrann Mathieu in the past few years. They need to get some young talent on board to have success in the future.

The Houston Texans converted a two-point attempt late in the fourth quarter to seal a 32-31 win over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 18. The win for the Texans resulted in them handling the first overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft to the Chicago Bears.

The Bears are likely to entertain trade offers for that pick as they are unlikely to draft a quarterback. If the Bears trade their pick for compensation to any other team, it will result in the Texans losing Bryce Young, who is predicted to go first overall.

However, the Texans could still draft a quarterback with their pick as C.J. Stroud of Ohio State will be available. The Texans also have the rights to the 12th overall pick via the Browns, and Nick Caserio has a huge offseason ahead of him to bring the team back to relevancy.
