NFL fans confused why Deshaun Watson's accusers intend to attend QB's Browns debut

Cleveland Browns Practice
Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson is set to start his first game of the year.

We all remember Deshaun Watson. The former Houston Texans quarterback has now finished his 11-game suspension for alleged incidents involving sexual harassment and assault against multiple women.

Now free to play, it looks likely that Watson will be under center for the Cleveland Browns for the upcoming Week 12 clash against his former team, the Texans.

But what is rather odd is that per ESPN, 10 of the women who accused Watson of sexual harassment and assault will be in attendance at NRG Stadium on Sunday.

One NFL fan tweeted how unusual it was when the news broke that the women would be in the stands.

"Suing someone who assaulted you and then paying to see him play is next level weird."

Per Attorney Tony Buzbee, the 10 women simply want to get on with their lives and, in fact, have no interest in what happens on the field, with Buzbee saying that the women want to make a statement that they are "still here" despite what happened.

Regardless, many still think the women's decision to watch Watson is still weird.

It appears that most fans agree that the women's choice to go and watch the man that caused them so much pain and heartache is a bit odd.

Watson will start his first meaningful NFL game since 2020. While the quarterback did play some part in the Browns' preseason games, now his presence will count for something.

Whether or not there is excitement from the Browns fan base amid the quarterback's return, they shouldn't expect him to set the league alight. During his preseason outings, the 27-year-old did not look comfortable at all.

It is only natural that, having been out of the game for so long, it will take him time to adjust. With the Browns' season hanging in the balance and a playoff spot nearly unreachable, the remaining games will be for the quarterback to find a stable footing.

His return is a searing storyline, as it has dominated the media landscape for a year and a half. With it all behind the quarterback, he can focus on football.

It may be hard to focus, though, with 10 of his accusers sitting in the stands on Sunday.
