The Detroit Lions defeated the Los Angeles Rams in overtime on Sunday night, with David Montgomery scoring the walkoff touchdown after more than an hour of exciting action. However, there are fans who think that the game ended abruptly.
Under the current rules, overtime in the regular season ends when a team scores a touchdown, even on its first drive. A team will also win on a safety or defensive touchdown. If the first team either manages only a field goal or fails to score, then it will be sudden death.
Nevertheless, fans wanted these rules to be changed:

Fans couldn't keep their cool as they were expecting more action.
"Worst rule in all of sports," one fan mentioned.
"Fix the OT rules," another demanded.
"It’s crazy to me that we let a coin flip practically decide a match. Both teams should have the opportunity to touch the ball," another reflected.
Racap of Lions-Rams overtime thriller on SNF
The game began rather slowly, with the Rams going ahead first via a 41-yard field goal by rookie Joshua Karty after around ten minutes. Then there was another lull before Jake Bates responded from 25, to tie. Then, just as the two-minute warning period began, Jahmyr Gibbs scored the first touchdown of the night - a red-zone rush.
The Lions would then build on that lead to begin the third, when Jared Goff found Jameson Williams for a 52-yard heave adding seven points to their tally. But after that, they seemingly fell silent. With around three and a half minutes remaining, Kyren Williams rushed for a touchdown.
The Rams would not let up to begin the fourth, concluding their first drive with another field goal by Karty. They eventually retook the lead via a Matthew Stafford connection to Cooper Kupp with four and a half minutes left, and it seemed as if that would be the final score.
But with just seconds left, Bates struck again to tie the game. Stafford did not have enough time to pass on the next drive, forcing overtime.
And the Lions had a game plan for that - they just rushed the ball repeatedly on their drive until David Montgomery found the end zone to win the game.
