Fans reacted as Aaron Rodgers hinted about a mole in the New York Jets locker room. The Jets are a gift that keeps on delivering, just not on the field. Heading into Week 13, they have just three wins in 12 and are just about locked in for a top-10 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft as opposed to a berth in the playoffs.
While the product on the field has flattered to deceive, the product off it has been a fairly entertaining one. Between rumors of the Jets having security escort Robert Saleh out of the building and franchise owner Woody Johnson floating the option of benching Aaron Rodgers mid-season, the Jets have been a dumpster fire in the headlines. For his part, Rodgers suspects there's a mole in the locker room who has been working to supply journalists with locker room insight.
In a press conference with reporters on Wednesday, Rodgers said that he's '100% certain' that there's a snitch. However, his suspicision didn't go down well with NFL fans, who demanded he practice some accountability instead. Here's what fans said about the Jets QB's comments:
"There's the soap opera drama, but then there's the play itself. Everybody's getting distracted from this guy's play," one tweeted.
"Is there an Aaron Rodgers problem within the Jets organization?," one fan asked.
"If they weren't so incompetent, leaks wouldn't matter," another tweeted.
"Aaron Rodgers is the leak," a third posted.
Aaron Rodgers remains non-committal over future with the Jets
Despite the lack of a winning record, two months ago, Rodgers said that he was leaning towards suiting up with the franchise in 2025. Cut to the Jets firing Saleh and Douglas, Rodgers' future appears murky at best.
Asked why he was less certain this week of coming back with the Jets, Rodgers told reporters:
"There's uncertainty with everybody on the staff, so I'm not naive to what the situation is. If a new GM comes in and they don't retain Brick, I have to fit in those plans.
"I'd love to play here if I end up deciding to play, but there's got to be the want for them to want to bring me back and for me to want to play. But 'I think so' was the truth, and 'I'm not 100% sure' is also the truth today."
