Star cornerback Jaire Alexander will be up against MVP candidate Justin Jefferson as the Green Bay Packers and the Minnesota Vikings are set to face each other in Week 17.

Ahead of facing Jefferson in Week 17, Alexander talked about him and claimed his Week 1's performance against the Packers was a fluke. Jefferson had nine catches for 184 yards and scored two touchdowns in Week 1 against the Packers.

As per Rob Demovsky of ESPN, Alexander said this about Jefferson ahead of their big matchup in Week 17:

“You’ve just got to be real. He don’t jump in no super suit and get dressed and jump outside, you hear me? I don’t either, sometimes. But he [is] human, is what I’m saying."

He continued:

"We ain’t putting too much on nobody. He’s a really good receiver. But at the end of the day, I’m a really good corner. We’ve got really good corners. We’ve got really good linebackers, D-line, whatever it is."

Alexander added:

"You don’t want to put too much focus on that one person because it’s like, the first game, that was a fluke.”

Here's how social media reacted to Jaire Alexander's comments about Justin Jefferson:

Justin Jefferson is having a historic season for the Minnesota Vikings and is on the verge of becoming the first-ever player to record 2,000 receiving yards in a single season.

He has 123 catches for 1,756 yards and has scored nine touchdowns in 15 games this season. It will be tough for Alexander to back up his words and contain Jefferson in Week 17.

Jaire Alexander is the type of player who is always confident in himself and speaks highly about his team's chances against any opponent. More often than not, the star cornerback usually backs his words up with his plays on the field as well.

The Week 17's matchup against the Vikings is quite vital for the Green Bay Packers. They need to win this game in order to keep their playoff hopes alive.

The Packers will be at home, and Alexander will be backed by the crowd in his tough battle against Jefferson. This will be one of the best matchups of the season, and it will be compelling to see if Alexander will be able to contain Jefferson and the Vikings.
