Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson has been accused by another woman of sexual misconduct. The quarterback previously faced 24 lawsuits made by massage therapists in 2021 while he still played for the Houston Texans.

The new allegation was made by a woman who is anonymously referred to as 'Jane Doe' and alleges that the assault occurred during a date with Watson in October 2020. On Wednesday, Watson's lawyer Rusty Hardin released a statement and social media immediately reacted.

Fans weren't pleased with this new round of allegations against the quarterback, who was traded to the Cleveland Browns and then signed a massive extension.

Fans didn't show much sympathy for the quarterback, whom some of them perceived as a repeat offender. Watson has never faced criminal charges and all of the legal filings have been made in civil court. This new statement from his lawyer also didn't bode well with fans.

"No one believes him," one fan declared.
"So, he didn't disclose this to the team. So the contract can be voided. Good," said one fan.
"If he just quits, can they void his contract? I'd be ok if he just quit," asked another fan.

In March 2022, the Browns traded for the quarterback and also signed him to one of the biggest contracts in the NFL, at the time, with a five-year deal worth $230 million.

Others on social media weren't shocked that Watson is denying the allegations, just as he did with the previous 24 cases against him. NFL fans were also quick to call the trade/signing a 'disaster' and asserted that the Browns knew what they were getting themselves into at the time.

"Unmitigated disaster signing that guy. The Browns deserve everything that comes with this," stated a fan on X.
"NEW lawsuit against the disgraced Deshaun Watson," said one person.
"So tired of all this. Find a way to please move on from him," one fan posted on X.

What did QB Deshaun Watson's attorney say in his statement?

Quarterback Deshaun Watson's attorney Rusty Hardin has addressed the new sexual assault allegation made against his client. Hardin released a statement on Wednesday afternoon which was shared on X by Cleveland Browns reporter Mary Kay Cabot.

Hardin said that Watson denies the claims made by the accuser, whose identity has not been released, which is typical in this type of case.

“Deshaun strongly denies the allegations in the Jane Doe lawsuit filed Monday."

The statement then continued by adding that Watson won't be answering any further questions from reporters about the matter. He also said that he expects Watson to be cleared of all allegations made against him.

“We have asked him not to comment further while this matter works its way through the courts, but are comfortable he will ultimately be vindicated. We will be ready to defend this case in court at the appropriate time, but don’t intend to conduct our defense in the media.
"We would ask that people be patient while the legal process runs its course. In the meantime, Deshaun is going to focus his energy and concentration on football.”

Deshaun Watson and his attorney expect the case to resolve in their favor. However, the Cleveland Browns quarterback might be a little ruffled at being involved in another litigation of this kind.
