The Baltimore Ravens are making a massive change to their uniform in the upcoming season. On Thursday, the team announced that they will don the new 'Purple Rising' helmets for their Thursday Night Football clash in Week 10 against divisional rival Cincinnati Bengals at the M&T Bank Stadium.
In a statement from the Ravens senior vice president of marketing, Brad Downs, he claimed that both the players and the fans have approved the new design.
"The reaction to our 'Purple Rising' helmet launch from both players and fans was extremely positive. We can't wait to debut it in front of a national audience and huge Baltimore crowd this November," Downs said.

Some Ravens fans backed Downs' statement by lauding the new helmets and sharing their excitement for it.

However, many voiced their displeasure about the change, particularly about the logo on the helmet.
"On everything this reminds me of when you could make a random team in Madden back in the day," @itsloriduh said.
"Front-facing logos are creepy. No thanks," @curtis93969 opined.
"That logo! Looks like it should be a villain on a Pixar movie, A Bugs Life comes to mind," @jake_riepma quipped.
"I would like these a lot more if that hideous logo wasn't on the side," @anthermi replied.
While the fans' opinion on the helmet is split, they are united in their demand for a Super Bowl appearance from the Ravens.
Baltimore Ravens' offseason moves: Can Lamar Jackson and co. end the drought?
The Ravens made one significant move in the offseason when they signed former Tennessee Titans superstar Derrick Henry on a two-year $16 million deal. Having the bruising running back and Lamar Jackson on the same backfield is a scary proposition for opposing defenses.
Albeit Henry's arrival, the team got slightly weaker in other areas. They lost running back duo Gus Edwards and J.K. Dobbins, while former first round draft pick Patrick Queen joined another divisional rival: the Pittsburgh Steelers. Veterans Jadeveon Clowney, Devin Duvernay and Ronald Darby have also moved on to greener pastures.
The Ravens' offseason hasn't been the blockbuster summer they expected it to be, after a promising run to the AFC Championship Game in January. The pressure will be on Jackson to play better than he did last season — considering he's the reigning MVP.
