Wide receiver Quentin Johnston, from the Los Angeles Chargers, was a player that many fans were hopeful to see a good performance. He had a fantastic game in Week 18, with 13 catches and 186 yards, but he went back to Earth during the AFC Wild Card Round with a lot of problems and bad routes.

NFL fans were not forgiving about his mistakes, as he cost his team a new set of downs following a bad drop in the first half. Johnston had registered no catches for the first three quarters and also had another drop late in the fourth quarter:

"4th & 2 and you go to…. Quentin Johnston. Hot garbage", said one fan.
"Quentin Johnston can’t even catch a failed 4th down attempt", another posted.
"Quentin Johnston go ahead and hang it tf up man. All he ever does is drop catches", a third said.

Chargers eliminated from AFC playoffs after awful performance from Quentin Johnston

There's no way to sugarcoat it: coming from the best game of his career, the wide receiver followed with an atrocious performance, with five total targets, two drops and not a single reception to add to his account.

Rookie wide receiver Ladd McConkey did all the work for the team, with nine receptions for 197 yards and a touchdown. But that was basically all that the Chargers were able to do passing the ball. The lack of targets for Justin Herbert didn't help, but he finished the game with four interceptions.

There's a clear need to bolster the group of wide receivers if Los Angeles wants to fight at the top of the conference in 2025. McConkey surpassed the 1,000-yard mark as a rookie and had a great year, but it was clearly not a good season for the passing offense as a whole.
