On Monday, January 30th, NFL clubs were notified of the salary cap number for the 2023 season. NFL Network reported that the 2023 salary cap will be a record of $224.8 million per team which is $16.6 million from 2022's $208.2 million salary cap.
This will mark the second season that the salary cap will be above $200 million and the first time it exceeds $220 million.
Each season the cap goes up by around $10-$20 million. However, in 2021, it went down from $198.2 million the season before to $182.5 million due to the COVID-19 pandemic adjustment.
