Free-agent quarterback Cam Newton is looking to make a comeback in 2023. The former league MVP didn't play this season but hasn't retired from the NFL.

He last played during the 2021 season with the Carolina Panthers and compiled a 0-5 record.

As he looks to make a comeback, he will be throwing on Tuesday at Auburn's pro day to prove his case for why he should be a starting quarterback.

He announced the news on Twitter and is aiming to become a starting quarterback again:

"Tell me how these randoms keep getting jobs. Don't worry about it, I'mma show you. I can't wait to show you. Ahhh, I love it. I've seen a lot of people toying the idea, and it's official. I will be throwing at Auburn's pro day Tuesday. Ain't 32 motherf**kers better than me, you dig?"

Newton has noticed all the quarterback deals flying around this offseason and is hoping to get signed by a team.

Cam Newton starred for a few seasons with the Carolina Panthers after they made him the No. 1 pick in 2011 of Auburn.

He won Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2011 as he threw for a career-high 4,051 yards and set an NFL record for most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback in a single season with 14.

In 2013, he led the Panthers to a 12-4 record, and two seasons later, in 2015, he won the league MVP. He led the Panthers to Super Bowl 50, where they fell short to the Denver Broncos.

Since then, he has only had one winning season which came in 2017 as he led the Panthers to an 11-5 record. From 2019-2021, he piled up a 7-15 record and didn't play like he did early on in his career.

Regardless of how things go Tuesday, it will be tough for a 33-year-old Cam Newton to land a job as a starting quarterback.
