Pat McAfee credits Taylor Swift as Travis Kelce plans to return ‘slimmer’ from Florida ahead of Chiefs minicamp

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has been working hard on his fitness this offseason. The Chiefs will begin their mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, and ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported that Kelce will return to training 'slimmer', having lost up to 25 pounds.

Kelce was not at the Chiefs' OTAs and opted to spend time with his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, before returning to the team's minicamp.

On his show on Monday, analyst Pat McAfee credited Swift with Kelce's body transformation.

"Travis Kelce is having an offseason down in Florida with Taylor Swift, coming back better than ever. I think they continue to inspire each other, I think they continue to motivate each other, I think they continue to be great for each other and if Kelce is all the way back, you immediately understand that the Chiefs are going to be exactly where the Chiefs have been."

Although Kelce received his 10th Pro Bowl honor in the 2024 season, he had a relatively average campaign in comparison to his exceptionally high standards. He finished the regular season with 823 yards and three touchdowns on 97 receptions across 16 games, helping the Chiefs win the AFC West.

In the playoffs, Kelce recorded 175 yards and a touchdown on 13 receptions. Kansas City made it to the Super Bowl but lost to the Philadelphia Eagles at the final hurdle.

While in Florida, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift have been enjoying some Stanley Cup Final action between the Florida Panthers and the Edmonton Oilers.

The two were in attendance for Game 4, which the Panthers lost 5-4 in overtime. But after winning Game 5, the Panthers now lead the series 3-2 and will have a chance to clinch the Stanley Cup title on home ice on Tuesday.

On McAfee's show Monday, NHL rinkside reporter Jackie Redmond shared that Swift and Kelce could be in the building to witness the Panthers' potential coronation.

However, she clarified that their presence has not been confirmed just yet.
