Aaron Rodgers signed a one-year contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Friday, and is expected to lead the team's offense in the 2025 season. However, some have questioned whether the 41-year-old can still deliver the goods at the top level.

On Monday, NFL analyst Pat McAfee highlighted a red flag for the Steelers even after signing Rodgers.

"I think they're thinking with one weapon, like DK Metcalf, which they brought in for $132 million, with one quarterback that can maybe operate this offense," McAfee said, via "The Pat McAfee Show." "And Arthur Smith wants to operate if we can keep TJ Watt, which they're still going to have to figure out.

" ... If Aaron can come in here and matriculate the ball down the field and eat up some clock, make smart choices, not have any turnovers, the Pittsburgh Steelers are dancing in the playoffs yet again, and once they get into playoffs, who knows, especially with how good their defense is."

The Steelers acquired DK Metcalf from the Seattle Seahawks this offseason. The wideout then signed a four-year $132 million extension, taking his overall contract to five years and $150 million.

Rodgers will also have the likes of Robert Woods, Calvin Austin III and tight end Pat Freiermuth as his offensive targets.

Pittsburgh added some defensive cover by signing cornerback Darius Slay. The franchise also has veteran defensive end Cameron Heyward as another top defensive star. Even seven-time Pro Bowler TJ Watt will need to step up next season.

However, the Steelers' defense will have to work as a unit to get the team into the playoffs.

Rodgers can earn up to $19.5 million with incentives under his contract.

It will be interesting to see if Rodgers can work some of his magic with the Steelers to make a push for the Super Bowl next season. The four-time MVP will enter his 21st year in the league, and first with Pittsburgh.

Rodgers played 18 years with the Green Bay Packers and two seasons with the New York Jets.
