Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are set to face the Cincinnati Bengals next week. This will be a rematch of last season's AFC Championship Game, and the Chiefs are out for revenge.

In the second half of last season's AFC Championship Game against the Bengals, Mahomes played quite poorly. As a result, the Chiefs missed out on a third straight trip to the Super Bowl.

Don't think for a second that @PatrickMahomes forgot about that Bengals loss. He's going to go super-human on Sunday, mark my words.

Ahead of the rematch against the Bengals, the Chiefs quarterback said this:

"Man, it's not a good place. I mean, they'd beat us. I played terrible in the second half. And we lost at home… So, we'll be ready to go this next week for sure."

Mahomes continued:

"I mean, you learn that you gotta just continue to push, you can't be satisfied with where you're at. We just got a lot of points at first half, we went in kind of thinking we were going to just kind of coast to the Super Bowl,"

Mahomes added:

"But they're a team that's gonna fight so they're gonna fight to the very end. That's why while they were in the Superbowl, and so we have to make sure that we go in with two great halves of football and however long it takes."

The Cincinnati Bengals have found their groove and defeated the Tennessee Titans in Week 12. Moreover, they are likely to have Ja'Marr Chase back for the game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

As a result, Patrick Mahomes will be required to be at his best as this game will not be an easy one. As of now, the Chiefs are favored by -2.0 points against the Bengals, but this line could change.

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs made light work of the Los Angeles Rams in Week 12

Mahomes continued on the trajectory to win the MVP award this season. He led the Chiefs to a comfortable 26-10 win over the Los Angeles Rams in Week 12. The Rams were still without both Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp, due to which they had very little chance of coming away with a win against the Chiefs.

Can Jalen Hurts surpass Mahomes as the MVP favorite?"What we're doing to Patrick Mahomes ... we never did to any of the other guys who won multiple MVPs. ... Everyone says they have Mahomes fatigue, he's won the award once?! " β€” @getnickwright

In the game against the Rams, Mahomes threw for 320 yards and had a touchdown along with an interception. After Week 12, Patrick Mahomes is still the frontrunner to win the MVP award, and barring any late slip-ups, he should be able to win it.
