Raheem Mostert's wife Devon cheers on as Dolphins star acquires sport fishing championship team

While Miami Dolphins' Raheem Mostert is playing as an RB2, he is also venturing into the high seas. Mostert is now a proud co-owner of the newly renamed East Coast Remix Angling Club.

Excited about her husband's latest venture, Mostert's wife Devon took to Instagram to share the news. She reposted a Sports Business Journal article about Mostert acquiring the Sport Fishing Championship (SFC) team, alongside Minor League Baseball's Kenny Hernandez.

“Proud of you, Raheem Mostert. I know that owning a fishing team was a huge part of the dream," wrote Devon alongside a picture of the RB and Kenny Hernandez in the background.

With Mostert and Hernandez onboard, the sport’s appeal is expected to reach a wider audience. For Raheem, it’s a dream realized, and he told SFC:

"Me and my partner [Kenny Hernandez] couldn’t be more excited to be getting involved in SFC Billfish Championship Series and to establish the East Coast Remix Angling Club. I’ve always dreamed of owning a team, and combining that with my passion for angling is truly a fantasy come to reality.

"I was blown away by my experience winning ‘The Catch’ alongside Alvin Kamara back in April, and it really cemented my love for SFC. We’re looking forward to bringing a winning formula down here to Florida."

NFL Legend Randy Moss and New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara also own teams in the Sport Fishing Championship (SFC).

Raheem Mostert always had a deep connection to the ocean

Growing up in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Raheem Mostert has a love for water. Not many people know that surfing the Atlantic Ocean's waves became a staple for the NFL RB during his childhood.

“The town where I grew up, it’s still to this day the shark-bite capital of the world,” Mostert said in an interview with the New York Times in August 2018. “We would go out there and surf and they’d bite on people and stuff. They were usually just small sharks. But they’d mistake us for food.”

Cut to the present, Mostert's love for the ocean is more than recreation. Apart from his NFL career, he is also an advocate for ocean conservation and raises awareness about protecting marine life and ecosystems.

Given his connection to the ocean, owning a Sport Fishing Championship (SFC) team makes sense.
