The excitement level around the Baltimore Ravens ahead of the 2025 season is high after the team locked down one of its best young players for more years.
The Ravens announced on Thursday that they have signed wide receiver Rashod Bateman to a three-year, $36.75 million contract that will see him remain in Baltimore through the 2029 campaign.
The wideout set career highs with nine touchdown catches and 756 receiving yards last season. His significance to the team was solidified by his increased output, which prompted coach John Harbaugh and general manager Eric DeCosta to begin negotiating an extension this offseason.

Bateman posted an emotional message on social media, musing over his career with the Ravens, shortly after his extension was announced on Thursday.
“Feeling incredibly grateful today,” Bateman wrote. “Baltimore believed in me from the start, and this extension means a lot. I want to thank Mr. Bisciotti, Eric DeCosta, Coach Harbaugh and the entire coaching staff for their trust and support. It’s been a journey of growth on and off the field.
“To my teammates, thank you for pushing me, holding me down, and making this locker room feel like home. The relationships I’ve built here mean everything. I’ve learned a lot, matured, and grown as both a player and a person. This city has shaped me in ways I’ll never forget. Excited for what’s ahead. Let’s get to work.”
With Bateman's deal, the Ravens have locked down a key component of their developing attack.
Rashod Bateman will look to build on best season of his career
Rashod Bateman was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the first round (27th pick) of the 2021 season, but he dealt with multiple fitness issues in his first four seasons in the league.
Bateman enjoyed a breakout 2024 season, playing in all games and accumulating 756 receiving yards and nine touchdowns.
He showed increased effectiveness with an average of 16.8 yards per reception, surpassing his career average of 13.9. He built chemistry with quarterback Lamar Jackson in the offense and showed the promise he flashed during his rookie campaign.
Bateman's 2024 campaign provides insight into his development and likely highlights that he is prepared to take on a more significant role in a Ravens offense poised for a Super Bowl run.
Bateman will play alongside five-time Pro Bowler DeAndre Hopkins, who was signed earlier this offseason, and Zay Flowers, who is on the back of a Pro Bowl 2024 season, in the Ravens' stacked wide receiver room this season.
