The last thing an NFL player wants to be labeled as is dirty, but that is what New England's Mac Jones is facing right now. In the New England Patriots' loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, footage has emerged of Jones looking to cut-block a defender by taking his knees out.

Jones currently has a history of, shall we say, unsavory conduct on the field, but the latest incident has NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe fired up. Speaking about Jones' incident on Fox Sports' Undisputed, Sharpe said that the quarterback needs to be suspended.

What are the current Super Bowl odds?

He added that other defenders in the league will be looking to get retribution.

Sharpe said:

"Dirty ass play and he has a history of this. I've defended him on some of the plays but that's behind the play, they got to suspend him that no block you can't injure that man, you know, you don't cut no man knees man. What the hell are you doing? If I'm all defensive players, first chance I get, I’m going to knock his block off."
”Now you put a bullseye on your back, now defenders going to be head hunting you. They gonna look to get ya, you watch Skip, somebody going to clean his clock.”

With the Patriots still in playoff contention, there are going to be a lot of eyeballs watching the Miami Dolphins clash with New England this weekend.

Patriots and Jones face tough challenge to get into the playoffs

With two divisional games remaining against Miami and the Buffalo Bills, the Patriots are going to have a tough time making it into the playoffs.

They will need to win both games and most importantly against the Dolphins as they are only a game ahead of New England. With Tua Tagovailoa now in concussion protocol, New England could have the chance to get a leg up in the division.

However, as Sharpe stated above, opposing defenders could be out for the second-year quarterback after yet another "dirty" hit.

It will make for interesting viewing in New England's next two games, but also if the NFL decides to do anything about these incidents.
