Trey Hendrickson currently poses a huge problem for the Cincinnati Bengals. He wants to join Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins in having monstrous contract extensions – and he will do anything to get it, even if it comes at great cost.
On Tuesday, the reigning sack leader was a notable absence from the team's mandatory minicamp, with NFL insider Field Yates reporting that he will have to pay around $100,000 in fines if he misses all three days:

Some fans groaned at his decision on social media:

"Sick of million-dollar babies," one fan said.
"Nobody beat the Bengals front office in negotiations! NOBODY," a fan added.
"All these guys holding out for new deals are just selfish," another fan commented.
Here are some more reactions from fans on X/Twitter:
"He’s a Packer," one fan predicted.
"Get it done Gutey. Let’s go…….", another fan said.
"We are cooked without him," a fan added.
Speaking of Burrow, he recently acknowledged the distractive nature of the standoff, but also professed high hopes for his teammate's return:
"We're all supporting Trey, and would love for him to be back."
Hendrickson is not the only Bengals edge rusher unhappy with his contract situation, however. Rookie Shemar Stewart was present at minicamp but did not participate in drills as he seeks a revision to the terms of his deal.
Speaking to the media, he expressed his disappointment at the "very bad" saga:
"I've been doing this for most of my whole life, and then all of a sudden it's gone over something very simple to fix... I can't say what I really want to say, but it's their contract. They can do what they want with it."
He also took indirect shots at the organization, "100%" justifying his decision:
"I'm not asking for nothing y'all have never done before. But in y'all case, y'all just want to win arguments (more) than winning more games."
Cardinals touted as perfect fit for Trey Hendrickson
Should a deal fail to materialize, there is one way the Cincinnati Bengals can resolve their Trey Hendrickson problem: Trade him elsewhere. There is no shortage of teams who will want his consistent double-digit sacks, and CBS's Cody Benjamin proposes the Arizona Cardinals as one of them.
For Sports Illustrated's Richie Bradshaw, they are also the ideal fit for the multiple-time Pro Bowler. In Glendale, he gets to join Super Bowl champion Josh Sweat in forming a monstrous duo and "multi-sided upgrade" for Jonathan Gannon and Nick Rallis:
"Hendrickson becomes the team's best rusher... He also drastically makes the defense from top-to-bottom better... 41 sacks from a team whose top producer had just five sacks a year ago will certainly have no issue getting at least double that production with very little effort."
As a side note, both teams will meet in Week 17 on Dec. 27/28.
