Fans reacted as Justin Fields, in what's supposed to be a learning year, has done it again. On Sunday, the fourth-season quarterback led the Pittsburgh Steelers to a 13-6 road win in his second start under center, at the Denver Broncos, once again in relief of Russell Wilson.
However, the final score doesn't tell the full tale. He had just 117 yards and a touchdown pass to sophomore tight end Darnell Washington from 13-of-20 attempts completed. And that had fans disappointed and wanting more, with one tweeting:
"Start Russ. This offence has been putrid."

More of the dismay can be seen below:
"Offense smells like shit," one jeered.
"Nothing to be proud of. This offense is brutal," another concluded.
"That's a terrible Steelers team," another complained.
After the game, even Fields himself looked disappointed, telling CBS fieldside reporter Aditi Kinkhabwala:
"We did enough to win. I don't think we played good enough as an offense. Of course, our defense played great; came up with some big stops. Still got some work to do on the offensive side of the ball in terms of not shooting ourselves in the foot, self-inflicted wounds with penalties and stuff like that."
During the post-game presser, Justin Fields dedicated the win to Wilson, who's still out with a leg injury:
“I think all know Russ kinda got done dirty last year. I know he wishes he could have played today’s game, but it was awesome getting this win for him.”
Next for the Steelers is theit first home game of the season, against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Key players as Steelers defeat Broncos despite Justin Fields' pedestrian stats
Overall, Justin Fields and the offense were unspectacular, with the next-best player being running back Najee Harris, who carried the ball 17 times for 69 yards. Leading tight end Pat Freiermuth was the team's best receiver, catching four passes for just 39 yards, while wideout George Pickens had two for 29.
The defense, though, was easily the best group of performers. Damontae Kazee and Corey Trice Jr had an interception each on Bo Nix, who was otherwise prolific in the air with 246 yards from 20 completions, while Alex Highsmith and TJ Watt sacked the rookie quarterback once apiece.
Wideout Josh Reynolds was the best offensive Bronco on the field, leading all receivers with 93 yards from four grabs. Meanwhile, on the other side of the ball, Jonah Elliss and Zach Allen had a sack each.
