Ahead of her 10th studio album, Taylor Swift announced that she will be giving fans a sneak peek during Thursday Night Football. The game between the Arizona Cardinals and the New Orleans Saints will see a boost in ratings as a result.
She announced on Twitter that she'd be giving an advanced look at 'Midnights,' her album scheduled to release during the game. In the video, the singer says:
"If you tune in to the Thursday Night Football game on Amazon Prime, I'm going to be showing a first look at the secret projects I've been working on very hard for a very long time, getting ready for the Midnights album. You would see it before the Midnights album comes out, so, meet me there?"
There is perhaps no better artist to entice fans to watch Thursday Night Football, especially since the games have been so bad lately. The timing is also perfect since the album will be available following the conclusion of the game.
However, fans who are begrudgingly going to watch the game, think this is a ploy. Amazon is in danger of losing their audience because the games they show have routinely been underwhelming. The ploy is probably going to work, but NFL fans aren't all that happy about it:

Will Taylor Swift be able to save Thursday Night Football on Amazon Prime?
It's no secret that Thursday Night Football games often do not represent the best that the sport has to offer. This year's run with Amazon Prime has been much worse than that, though.
The last two games have been awful, featuring a combined 40 points. Fans are growing tired of it and the Saints and Cardinals are not elite teams. There is a fear that they aren't going to put on much of a show.
Since Midnights was announced at the end of August, fans of Swift's and music in general have been absurdly excited. There's no way any of them will miss the sneak peek, which means they'll be watching Thursday Night Football.
Despite the fact that this game doesn't feature two playoff teams and is following two horrendous games, it could be the most viewed game of the season. That's all thanks to Swift.
