"That's not what he wanted to cook" - Patrick from SpongeBob SquarePants brutally trolls Russell Wilson over INT against Rams

Russell Wilson's performance against the Los Angeles Rams on Christmas Day was likely one of the worst of his career. The quarterback threw multiple interceptions and didn't move the ball well. The Denver Broncos lost a humiliating game 51-14, and as a result, head coach Nathaniel Hackett was fired.

However, the Broncos-Rams contest had an interesting caveat. As part of their efforts to appeal the game to younger audiences, CBS Sports unveiled the third edition of NFL on Nickelodeon. It's a whole different broadcast featuring young stars and important elements of Nickelodeon, such as the slime.

With such a poor outing, Wilson was roasted by multiple analysts. One of the biggest roasts came from Patrick from SpongeBob SquarePants.

Following a pick by the Broncos quarterback, Patrick said:

"That's not what he wanted to cook!"

The joke was in clear reference to the #LetRussCook movement, started on Twitter in 2020 as part of a public effort for the Seattle Seahawks to let Wilson throw more passes.

Russell Wilson had one of the worst games of his career on Nickelodeon

If the idea behind a broadcast for younger audiences was to provide a bigger sense of humor, then the Broncos quarterback provided plenty of opportunities.

Wilson completed just 15 out of 27 passes with one touchdown and three interceptions. The Los Angeles Rams absolutely dominated the game in all phases and looked like a more prepared team, with Wilson struggling to get anything going on offense.

Russell looks a shadow of his former self. In 2020, when the movement #LetRussCook gained steam, he was one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, and he was an MVP favorite during the first half of the season. But his play vanished and he lost a step in his movement, losing one of the greatest assets of his game: his mobility.

The Denver Broncos offered him a 5-year, $242,5 million contract during the offseason and they're basically stuck with him until at least 2026. If he does not return to his best levels, the franchise will have a major problem.

After Sunday's debacle, the Broncos decided to fire head coach Nathaniel Hackett. With a 4-11 record, he did not survive even a full season on the job.
