Deshaun Watson's legal saga from the early 2020s appears to have one more chapter. A lawsuit was filed against the Browns quarterback in Houston, alleging a sexual assault on Oct. 10, 2021. The date of the alleged incident is from the time when Watson faced more than 20 sexual misconduct allegations.

An excerpt of the allegations, via Pro Football Talk, provided disturbing details. After a part of it was posted online by Big Game Bengal on Twitter/X, fans called for an instant ban on the quarterback. Tweets were directed toward Commissioner Roger Goodell to punish Jerome Ford's quarterback as well.

"Watson roughly sexually assaulted Jane Doe for several minutes in a ‘missionary position’ before grabbing her and flipping her over. Watson continued to assault Doe aggressively from behind."
"Watson continued to assault Doe aggressively from behind. Jane Doe finally gathered the courage and strength to escape Watson. Jane Doe quickly ran to her dresser to grab a heavy piece of décor for self-defense and yelled at Watson [to] get out of her apartment. Enraged, Watson stormed out of Jane Doe’s apartment,” the lawsuit alleged per Florio.

"This dude needs to be in prison," one said.
"I mean this is f**king insane. Kick Watson out the NFL and throw him in jail," another said.
"If goodell doesn’t do anything about this i think it’s time we consider trying to find a way to replace him immediately. gambling and smoking pot is a big no no but things like this, rashee rice, kareem hunt, etc are okay?" another questioned.

More fans called for the quarterback to face retribution from the justice system and the NFL.

"Get Watson out of the league man. and also don’t let the Browns get a ticket out of that contract," a fan said.
"If this is true, enough is enough. He is terrible on and off the field. How can you in good conscience allow him to keep sullying your already poor reputation with these matters NFL ? Investigate and get him outta there if any shred of this is true," another added.
"f**king sick!!!! do something this is gone way to fucking far for way to long!!!"Yeah this was the nail in the coffin for Watson he’s done," another said.
"If goodell doesn’t suspend him indefinitely (heartbreak emoji)," another said.

Deshaun Watson's latest legal battle comes as the quarterback attempts to right the ship in a season that may define the future of his career. After two seasons of failing to reach the playoffs, the quarterback's back is against the wall to prove he can be the organization's future.

The additional legal matter could complicate things for Nick Chubb's quarterback.

UPDATE: The NFL has no plans to place Watson on the Commissioner's Exempt List despite a fresh lawsuit against the quarterback.

The Cleveland Browns now face a potential out for the quarterback. At least, that is what Mike Florio claimed in a follow-up article posted on Monday. However, for the Browns to be able to void the rest of the guaranteed $230 million by the end of the 2026 season, they need one key thing to happen.

According to the contract, they would need the allegations to be generated from a source Deshaun Watson's team previously didn't know about. They also need him to be suspended. At least that appears to be Florio's understanding of the contract:

"Did Watson disclose this specific potential claim to the Browns in writing before he signed the contract? That’s the key question. If he did, the lawsuit can’t activate paragraph 42. If he didn’t, things get potentially complicated."

Regardless of what happens, the odds appear to be high that if the potential out is exercised, it could lead to another legal question, meaning a potential review in a court. Aany questions regarding Deshaun Watson's situation would likely be resolved in arbitration. At this point, the first question is whether the allegations are true.

After that, it would be important to find out if the Browns were already aware of this alleged incident regarding Deshaun Watson. Where it goes from there is anyone's guess.
