Rich Eisen pressures Broncos to start from scratch after Russell Wilson trade disaster

Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos are in struggle town. So much so that Rich Eisen wants the franchise to rip up everything and start again.

Trading for Wilson in the offseason, many thought Denver was going to be a Super Bowl contender. As things look after six weeks of the NFL season, they might not even make the playoffs.

Eisen was speaking on his show, The Rich Eisen Show, and said that the team should start again and burn everything that has happened so far.

“Whatever that's been done, take it, throw it the hell out, burn it and never acknowledged its existence and start again, because you know what? You're going against a Jets team next week at home, and they are coming. They're coming with young kids who feel great about themselves. The exact opposite of the Broncos team I saw last night.”

The decision to sign Wilson from the Seahawks was thought to be the final missing piece in the Broncos' Super Bowl puzzle. There's just one problem. That puzzle piece doesn't fit.

Missing the playoffs, you say? Yep. Currently sitting at 2-4, Denver is already two games behind the Chiefs and the Chargers in the AFC West. That will be hard to overcome.

Unless something drastically changes for Denver, postseason football will not be on the menu in 2022.

Russell Wilson's five-year, $245 million deal that includes $165 million guaranteed, is starting to look like a poor piece of business. Now, it is only six games into the season and we all knew that there would be teething problems. But not like this!

With such a great defense, Denver has been in every game, only one team has scored more than 19 points against them (Raiders with 32). If your defense is holding the opposing team to 19 points or under, many would think that a Russell Wilson-led offense will win most of those games.

That has not been the case. In four of their six games, Denver has only managed to score 16 points or less. That is not good enough considering the talent on that roster.

With Nathaniel Hackett and his new quarterback struggling, something needs to change. As Eisen stated, whatever they are doing, stop and blow it. Start again.

A dream that many thought would come true with the 33-year-old quarterback coming to Mile High has quickly turned into a nightmare.
