Tom Brady ‘not the best Super Bowl QB who ever lived,’ Mike Francesca claims in yet another hot take

Former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady has officially retired from the game of football.

The 23-year veteran announced his retirement on Twitter on Wednesday morning via a 50-second video. Brady retired as one of, if not the greatest, quarterbacks of all-time.

Analyst Mike Francesca had a hot take regarding Brady's career on Wednesday morning on "First Take." He claims that Brady isn't the best Super-Bowl-winning QB of all time and isn't the best regular-season QB of all time.

"He was drafted late, had a terrible body, it took him time to do it," Francesca said. "Now, I'm gonna throw a little oil on the ceremony. He's not the best regular-season quarterback I've ever seen. Peyton Manning was. He's not the best Super Bowl quarterback who ever lived, Joe Montana is.
"What he is, though, is the guy who played the longest and he won the most games."

He said that Brady only accomplished the things that he did due to playing in the NFL for as long as he did.

"He won the most Super Bowls, so he will be remembered because nobody's going to play 23 years, and nobody is probably ever going to have the chance to win that many Super Bowls," Francesca said. "It's almost impossible to do. He was in the right place with the right coach, and he was that competitive.
"But, let me say this, in the Super Bowl – let's take the Super Bowl performances – nobody ever has competed on the level Joe Montana competed on, not even close. And in the regular season, I watch every game in the regular season. The best down-to-down, Sunday-to-Sunday quarterback I've ever seen in the regular season was Peyton Manning."

Tom Brady's resume proves that Mike Francesca's take is wrong and that he is the GOAT

While Francesca had a hot take, Brady's resume points to him being the most accomplished quarterback of all time, including the regular season and playoffs.
