Troy Aikman knows all about playing NFL quarterback at a high level and he revealed who his MVP among Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, and Lamar Jackson is. The three quarterbacks have each had extremely productive seasons.Josh Allen and the Bills have the best win-loss record, Lamar Jackson has the best interception ratio and total yards, but Troy Aikman is rooting for Joe Burrow. The Bengals quarterback has led his team to an 8-8 record despite having a leaky defense, struggling offensive line, and patchy running game.Appearing on the Monday Night Football broadcast in Week 17 covering the 49ers against the Lions, Troy Aikman said,"I know there's going to be a lot of people out there making votes, and who's the MVP and all of that. I will just say that no disrespect to anyone in the great years that they've had, if I had a vote, it would go to Joe Burrow. What he has done has been terrific and that game the other night [Bengals vs. Broncos], he just refused to lose, and this [Bengals vs. Steelers] is going to be quite a game next week."Comparing Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen's stats to evaluate Troy Aikman's statementThrough Week 17 of the 2024 NFL season, Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, and Josh Allen have been phenomenal. The Ravens star has fewer interceptions and a higher passer rating. Josh Allen has the lowest passer rating, fewest yards, and fewest touchdowns among the trio. However, when we look at who they are playing with, we see that Lamar Jackson has the best weapons. Aside from Derrick Henry as his running back, Zay Flowers and Mark Andrews are capable receivers. While Joe Burrow has not had the same support in the offensive backfield, Ja'Marr Chase is arguably the best wide receiver in the league right now.Josh Allen has to do with the weakest offensive cast and whether MVP voters consider that will be interesting to see. As far as Troy Aikman is concerned, though, he has seen enough to call the Bengals quarterback his winner for this season's award. If we look at total yards and total touchdowns as the most important metrics for a quarterback, it is not hard to see how the former Super Bowl winner has reached the judgment that he has.
