Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers seems to be headed to the New York Jets, and a trade could be facilitated at any moment. Interestingly, they were the only team that was given permission to speak and meet with him in person.

NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport reported this morning that the ball is in Rodgers' court.

While Rodgers is set to likely join the Jets as his next team, he has played against them four times in his 18-year career.

Rodgers' career record vs. the New York Jets is 3-1.

He won the first three games vs. the Jets. In 2010, the Packers won by a score of 9-0.

In 2014, the Packers defeated the Jets 31-24 as Rodgers threw for three touchdowns in the game. Then they earned a 44-38 overtime victory over New York in 2018. Davante Adams caught the game-winning touchdown pass in overtime.

The lone loss to the Jets in his career came last season. The Jets picked up a road victory over GB at Lambeau Field and won by a score of 27-10. The Jets defense held Rodgers to under 250 passing yards and just one touchdown in the game.

Will the New York Jets become contenders with Aaron Rodgers?

The New York Jets will become a contender once Aaron Rodgers joins their team.

They started the year 7-4 before losing six straight games to end their season. In those six games, they only scored 20+ points once and were held to six points or a fewer in three of those games. They only gave up an average of 20 points per game in that stretch, and their defense played as well as the offense allowed them to.

Second-year quarterback Zach Wilson never found his mojo and the team found out he wasn't a franchise quarterback. The team shuffled through Wilson, Joe Flacco, and Mike White all of last season.

With Rodgers, they'll have a consistent, experienced veteran who has been to multiple championship games. They have a bunch of young talent in running back Breece Hall, wide receiver Garrett Wilson, defensive back Sauce Garner, and had a top-five defense last season.

If Rodgers can return to his MVP form two seasons ago, the Jets could certainly be a Super Bowl contender.
